Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities
For more than 25 years, the Women’s Fund of Portage County has been a catalyst for positive change in our community.
As a program within the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, we’ve built something remarkable together—an endowment that has grown to over $1 million, thanks to the unwavering support of our generous community.
Making a Real Impact
Each year, we award more than $40,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Portage County that are addressing issues most important to Portage County women. Our funding supports critical areas where our community needs it most:
- Childcare and Early Childhood Learning — Increasing access and equity for families and early childhood education professionals
- Behavioral Health and Wellness — Supporting mental health and wellbeing
- Economic Security and Employment — Creating pathways to financial independence
- Skills Development and Entrepreneurship — Providing tools to start businesses and advance careers through mentorship, job training, and startup support
- Education and Leadership — Empowering women to lead and succeed
Strong Partnerships, Lasting Change
We’re proud to work alongside our additional founding partners, the Stevens Point Area YMCA and Aspirus Health Foundation, as well as numerous other organizations dedicated to advancing opportunities for women in our community.
Together, we’re not just funding programs—we’re investing in the future of Portage County where all can thrive.
