Keystone Award

The annual Keystone Award is given to individuals who share their time, talents, and resources to create lasting change. Award recipients demonstrate the essence of community philanthropy and a love of our community. While inspired by the same spirit of community and generosity that established the Keystone Fund, the award stands independently as a tribute to those who embody the essence of local philanthropy.

We are honored by the recipients who have received the Keystone Award so far:

We celebrate Kathy Davies whose history with the Community Foundation dates back to the 1990s. Her legacy began when she started the Laura Davies Memorial Scholarship to honor her daughter in 1997. Kathy continued on as a founding member of the Women’s Fund of Portage County and is part of the Heinz Living Legacy Circle with her husband, Tom. She has played a key role in Waushara County philanthropy, supporting the growth of the Patterson Memorial Library Fund and Kiwanis Club of Wild Rose Fund. From her roles as interim executive director to board president, Kathy Davies has left her mark on the Community Foundation. The Keystone Award honors her continued love and long-term commitment to the communities we share.

Dave Williams is an ideal ambassador for the Keystone Award. Community Foundation Board member Nancy McCaskey shares, “Dave Williams, with his long-standing community involvement, naturally took on responsibility of the Hartford Fund. This established the first Waushara County fund and sparked the growth of philanthropy in the area. Dave’s generous donations of time and talent have significantly improved the lives of countless people in the area.” During his 15 years as board member, Dave worked with the Wild Rose School District to help grow over $1 million in scholarship endowments for students. We are grateful to recognize Dave’s dedication with the Keystone Award.
