The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin is responding to critical needs in Waushara County due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak with emergency funding and a new relief fund.

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin has announced that they have provided $10,000 in emergency funding to the Waushara County Food Pantry to address needs due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. With food insecurity being a critical issue identified during this COVID-19 crisis, this funding is crucial to ensure the pantry can keep providing nutritional food to county residents.

In addition to supplying the emergency funding, the foundation also launched a new relief fund this week, Waushara County COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Waushara County COVID-19 Relief Fund is meant to provide flexible resources to organizations assisting individuals in Waushara County who are negatively impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak including, but not limited to:
• Food insecurity
• Education interruption
• Employment reduction
• Housing vulnerability
• Medical access
• Mental Health
• Childcare

The Community Foundation will begin accepting applications beginning Monday, March 30. Funding decisions will be made based on the highest areas of need determined through ongoing communications with non-profit agencies and social sector serving agencies. Award decisions will be made every other Friday starting April 10. Organizations can apply online at www.cfcwi.org.

Community members are encouraged to support the needs of Waushara County by making a gift to this fund. The Community Foundation made an initial gift of $10,000 to start the fund. Join this effort by donating online at www.cfcwi.org. All the money raised will be used to address critical needs resulting from the coronavirus outbreak in Waushara County.

Checks can be mailed to the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin at 1501 Clark Street (ATTN: Waushara County COVID-19 Relief), Stevens Point, WI 54481.
