A year of growth: Serving our region through the Community Foundation

Oct 31, 2024 | General

There are numerous ways to build and strengthen community right here in Central Wisconsin. Through my time with the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, I’ve witnessed how the organization acts as a bridge, connecting available financial resources with opportunities to make a real impact across its five mission areas.

Drawing from my AmeriCorps training in public health, I’ve come to understand how the Foundation directly addresses social determinants of health. We can enhance health outcomes and reduce disparities by funding initiatives that improve the environments where people live, work, and age. What affects one of us impacts all of us, and community work is a collective effort. It truly takes a village, with each of us playing a unique role.

I’m incredibly thankful for the chance to learn and serve with the Community Foundation over the past year. The experience has deepened my understanding and reinforced my appreciation for the Board and our amazing staff.

As I move forward into the next chapter, I carry with me the lessons learned and look forward to continuing this meaningful work in the future!
