In 2007, Cheri Smith celebrated 25 years in business as a successful real estate broker in Stevens Point. As a UWSP graduate in business and economics, she felt a scholarship was an important way to thank the community with a lasting gift to university students. C.O.L.L.E.G.E. Scholarship (Creating Opportunity for Local Learners to Explore Greater Education): Started in 2010 by the Community Foundation, this fund offers scholarships to Portage County residents who have shown community involvement / volunteerism and are seeking post-secondary degrees.
Through this Scholarship Fund, Community First Bank will award a total of a million dollars in scholarships to graduating seniors of Pacelli, SPASH, and Rosholt High Schools, through 2034.
To allow the Grants Committee of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to meet the most compelling needs in Portage County in any given year.

This scholarship fund, established in 2006 by Jay and Linda Cook, will provide a scholarship each year to a graduating SPASH senior, who will be attending an accredited university. The applicant should illustrate a balance of academics and employment experiences.

The Cultural Commons will create a garden and education space within Pfiffner Park to serve as an interactive and dynamic educational experience for all people. This scholarship is in memory of Dan Zurawski and will award an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from a Portage County high school planning to enroll in the College of Natural Resources at UWSP or anyone enrolling in UWSP if there are no applicants meeting that criteria.
The fund supports the charitable and educational needs of Saint Mary’s Academy in Dominica and educational scholarships for students attending Saint Mary’s Academy in Dominica, as well as other charitable and educational uses as directed by the family.
