At the Community Foundation, we are honored to have a board president like Max Trzebiatowski, someone who starts with kindness and always finds opportunities to invite others into philanthropy.
If you’ve ever walked into a gathering and smelled fresh-baked treats from Sweet Juanjos, you’ve already experienced Max’s style of leadership. The warmth and care infused into them reflect Max and his baker wife, Katie Jo, generous people who make everyone feel at home.
He leads by example and repeatedly shows us that small acts of kindness matter just as much as big decisions. Max has often donated on behalf of others and, through this process, invited them to experience the joy of giving. He is doing more than acting as board president, Max is building a community of philanthropists along the way.
When asked what it’s meant to serve as Board President, he shares, “It’s been an amazing journey. I’ve loved seeing how our board members connect and work together. Everyone brings something unique, and we get so much done as a team.” That spirit of teamwork and inclusion speaks to what an incredible board of directors exists at the Community Foundation.
One of the causes closest to Max is around scholarships. His family started the Joey Trzebiatowski Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of his brother, who passed away in a car accident. What began as a small fundraiser grew into something lasting and meaningful for a community. “We hold a golf outing every year to raise money. It keeps my brother’s memory alive and brings people together. It’s been healing for my whole family.”
As board president, he sees the Community Foundation as an organization that meets many community needs and values its partnership with donors:
We’re here to help people learn how to give back and find ways to support their community. We are committed to building partnerships and helping you make an impact.
Cheers to Max Trzebiatowski for his leadership! Stay tuned as we continue this series to learn more about other leaders at the Community Foundaiton.
