Hartford Waushara County Mission Fund

Apr 26, 2022 | Celebrating Philanthropy

This week we are highlighting the Hartford Waushara County Mission Fund. The purpose of this fund is to support educational, charitable, and environmental purposes for the benefit of Waushara County residents.

This fund was originally set up in 2009 when the Foundation received a generous bequest from Geraldine Hartford’s estate. The fund started as a Donor Advised Fund at the Foundation. Fund Advisor, Dave Williams, who is a long-time Foundation Board Member, established a Waushara County Grants Committee to review grant applications and award the annual allocations to projects in Waushara County as part of the Foundation granting process.

In December 2018, the Foundation took steps to recognize the Hartford Fund as a Mission Fund for Waushara County. Since the fund was providing grants specific to Waushara County through the Foundation’s regular competitive grants process, it was renamed the Hartford Waushara County Mission Fund. Changing this fund to a Mission Fund encourages additional donors to invest in the fund, knowing their gift will grow the fund, the grants, and the everlasting impact for Waushara County.

Since inception in 2009, this fund has granted more than $240,000 to support programs that are pivotal to fulfilling educational, charitable, and environmental endeavors for Waushara County residents.

When you make a gift to the Hartford Waushara County Mission Fund, you can directly support residents of Waushara County.
